LATEST & GREATEST: NEW REVIEWS, HOT PREVIEWS & CLASSIC GAMES

CALL OF JUAREZ: BOUND IN BLOOD PREVIEW
In the past, anyone trying to turn a profit by converting the classic Western into a videogame has ended up shooting themselves in the foot rather than to the top of the sales charts.

So why do Techland think they're going to fare any better with their Call of Juarez sequel? Well, Bound in Blood promises the wildest West ever, and while we think that's pushing it (let's not forget Quick Draw McGraw on the C64), we're definitely more than a little interested in taking a peek at the cards up Bound in Blood's sleeve before it bursts through the saloon doors...

ALTITUDE
It's sad to admit but we're starved of online PC games at the moment. Seriously, where have all the Battlefields, Unreal Tournaments and Counter-Strike clones gone? We want to kill virtual people online, for crying out loud!

At least there are some developers out there willing to satisfy our urge, the question here is whether or not a low budget indie game really has the capabilities to go head to head with those aforementioned heavy hitters...

THE SIMS 3
The Sims 3 is finally here, and it's making a bit of a splash. It's easy to see why, what with its loyal fanbase and its charming gameplay that you can lose hours and hours of the day to. Get a house, get a job, get a partner, get a life - a game where you can do virtually anything is virtually the best game ever, right?

Building upon the success of the last two Sims franchises rather than overhauling and fixing something that isn't really broken in the first place, The Sims 3 has a lot going for it, so read on to discover what virtual pleasures lie in store...

OFFICERS: WORLD WAR II
It's that time of the week again, another World War II inspired strategy game to gnaw on - insert *yawn* or *applause* depending on your stance on this very well used setting

But wait, this one's a bit different! Rather than focusing on the actions of small squads of men, Officers is actually trying to recreate the massive logistical scale of some of the most famous battles of WWII. Does it do enough to stand apart from the crowd though? Blast your way into our review to find out.

KILLING FLOOR
Zombie-like mutations have spread across London in seemingly endless hordes, and with Britain's capital under threat of destruction, can anyone save Old Blighty?

Without the muscle-bound, square jawed, trigger-happy Americans, this task is left to you, as a surviving member of a Special Forces Unit. Your objective: kill 'em all. Grab some buddies, bolster morale with a shout of "For Queen and Country!" and charge into this review, making sure to keep a stiff upper lip at all times...

RESTAURANT EMPIRE II
If you've got a craving for management simulations then we might just have found a game to satisfy you.

Will Restaurant Empire II eat away at your time or will it just leave a sour taste in your mouth? Will you devour it whole-heartedly or push it to one side and try to move on without leaving a tip? Is it a delicious slice of sim gaming or is it less than palatable? Have we gorged ourselves on enuogh restaurant-related puns, or is there room for dessert? Of course there is! When it comes to bad jokes, we have a very hearty appetite...

COGS
What's this, slotted neatly into the Latest & Greatest list? Why it's our review of Cogs, the new brain-bending game based around the age-old game of sliding tile puzzles - but with a twist! Instead of forming a picture, you've got to rearrange the tiles to create machinery and pipework, and some of the puzzles stretch into 3D, where you must slide tiles around the surface of a cube.

At £6.99 it's hard to see how you could go wrong, but read on to find out if our reviewer is about to throw a spanner in the works...

ZENO CLASH
Imagine a world of hybrid animals, strange looking plants and crazy hairdos - and now imagine beating the seven bells out of everything in that world and then shooting it in the face. Also, there's a chicken man.

Something crazy this way comes, in the form of Zeno Clash, a PC exclusive first person beat 'em up, set in a wonderfully whimsical world. We've taken the blows, time after time, and returned to give you the verdict on what makes this one such a heavyweight champion - step into the ring and see for yourself!.

HIRED GUNS: THE JAGGED EDGE
A tyrannical ruler has taken up residence in Africa, so it's time to act like the Americans and execute a swift regime change. However, in this game you have been hired to sort the job yourself; you have a wad of cash but no army, meaning that you have to turn to gun-for-hire mercenaries for the required muscle.

The next in the Jagged Alliance series has arrived but can it really be more fun than other games in the squad-command genre? Read on to find out and, unlike the extortionate cost of hiring mercenaries these days, it won't cost you a penny...

SPACE WAR COMMANDER
If only all games were as to the point in their naming conventions as Space War Commader, then the new Call of Duty could be called something more exciting like Middle Eastern Battlefield Soldier... Okay, maybe not.

Putting aside the unimaginative title though, this is one of a growing number of indie games flooding the PC market at the moment. It's not giving away much to say that it's cheap and cheerful, but you'll have to read on to discover if it's worth picking up...
