KONAMI ANNOUNCES PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER 2008

KONAMI ANNOUNCES PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER 2008

Exclusively Adopting The Full Pro Evolution Brand Name For The First Time In North America, World's Top Soccer Franchise Comes To The PLAYSTATION 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PSP System, Nintendo DS and PC

Portuguese Midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo To Be Face Of The Latest Edition Of The World's Best-Selling Soccer Video Game Series

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - August 23, 2007 - Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., today announced it will release Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 in North America for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system, Nintendo DS™ and PC DVD-ROM. Slated for a Winter 2007 release, the new edition marks the first time that the world's best-selling soccer video game franchise has exclusively used the Pro Evolution moniker in North America. While the name may be new, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 combines the attention to detail that has always been the series' hallmark and has made Pro Evolution the world's definitive soccer title for any format.

"Pro Evolution Soccer has already established its brand as one of the most well-known video games in Europe and amongst core soccer fans around the world. Introducing the same brand name in the North American market is the first step of our global strategy," said Anthony Crouts, Vice President of Marketing, Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. "The franchise continues to capture all of the subtleties that make soccer the world's top sport and this year's new enhancements help bring the experience to a new level of perfection. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is destined to go down in history as the greatest soccer video game to date."

Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 shoots and scores with the renowned on-the-money controls which create one of the most authentic soccer experiences in video gaming history. The new game boasts the revolutionary wepes blast 1 AI system, a proprietary element that actively monitors the player's onscreen movements and adapts accordingly, forcing the player to consider their own strategic play more carefully. Other new additions include amazing attention to aesthetic detail as faces contort and shirts crease during a match, extensive Edit modes in all Next Generation versions, and closer control than ever before.

Adding to the authenticity, Portuguese midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo will be the face of the latest version of the multi-million selling Pro Evolution Soccer series. Regarded as one of the most exciting talents of the modern game, the 22-year-old is a permanent fixture on the Portuguese national squad. His incredible ball control and trademark skills have seen him receive countless awards, including both the PFA's 2007 Player and Young Player of the Year awards. As part of the deal, Ronaldo will appear on the packaging and point-of-sale materials for Pro Evolution Soccer 2008.

Featuring real players, a large variety of licensed teams, photo-realistic graphics, and a huge variety of stadiums, gamers will be able to re-create the same excitement that surrounds the world's most popular sport. As with previous releases, the ball is treated as a separate entity, with the timing of shots completely controlled by the player, while the new AI ensures that defenders work to close down space and block efforts on goal. Similarly, distribution of passes works along the same lines, with players using the space available to them to switch the ball. Dribbling control has also been enhanced, and a number of subtle moves have been added to bypass defenders in order to move the ball into space.

Marking the series' first appearance on the PLAYSTATION 3 system, and its second Xbox 360 outing, these and the PC-DVD 'Next Generation' versions of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008's are further enhanced by stunning aesthetic elements. Player features have been taken to incredible levels with full facial animation and the high-definition detail afforded by the hardware shows full movement and subtle details on the various uniforms during the course of a match. All 'Next Gen' versions will also benefit from an extensive Edit mode, allowing them to customize their Pro Evolution experience.

The Story

12,000 years ago, the world of Filgaia was a land immersed in technology far beyond anything found in the present day. For reasons unknown, however, the citizens of this advanced culture suddenly abandoned their technology, leaving the future of the human race to live in a comparatively primitive state. All that remained of this once great civilization were some scattered mechanical parts and the occasional remnants of a legendary golem—huge mechanical devices built to serve mankind. While use of the old technology remained mostly out of reach, there were some who had begun to research the ancient devices, seeking even the faintest hope of enriching their lives on this desolate world.

The situation changed dramatically about a hundred years ago when a new race known as the Veruni arrived on the planet. Although similar in appearance to humans, the Veruni’s superior physical attributes and advanced technology allowed them to quickly establish dominance over mankind. The human race found itself relegated to second-class status, and many citizens were forced to perform hard labor day in and day out in order to survive.

Fast-forward to the present day. In a small town called Capo Bronco on the outskirts of Filgaia, two youths, Dean Stark and Rebecca Streisand, witness an unbelievable event—the giant arm of a golem somehow falling from the sky. Their disbelief grows further when they discover that within the clenched fist of the golem’s hand lies a girl with little recollection of her past other than her name—“Avril.” This chance encounter inspires Dean and Rebecca to travel with Avril across the wastelands of Filgaia in hopes of helping her regain her lost memories. Little do they know their journey will eventually decide the fate of all mankind...

Key Features

* Return of the acclaimed HEX battle system, with all-new features such as interchangeable abilities between party members, varied battlefield layouts, and the ability to switch party members during battle.

* Huge, fully explorable 3D world with tons of hidden items, quests, and mini-games to discover.

* Dual pistol-wielding allows the player to shoot various types of bullets to solve puzzles, joining the returning action elements of jumping, sliding, and stomping on the field map.

* Highly-detailed 3D event scenes with voice-overs.

* Dozens of cameo appearances and other surprises for longtime fans of the series.

The ESRB rating is T for Teen.

NBA LIVE SUMMER CAMP IS IN SESSION!

NBA LIVE SUMMER CAMP IS IN SESSION!

EA SPORTS TO CAPTURE NBA STARS GO-TO MOVES FOR NBA LIVE

NBA LIVE 08 Cover Athlete Gilbert Arenas Hosts Paul Pierce, Josh Howard, Monta Ellis, Shawn Marion and Randy Foye This Week at EA Canada

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – August 28th, 2007 – Fire up the Hibachi! Electronic Arts Inc(NASDAQ: ERTS) announced today NBA LIVE 08 cover athlete Gilbert Arenas (Washington Wizards) will host the NBA LIVE Summer Camp taking place at EA Canada in Vancouver, BC on Wednesday, August 29. Along with Arenas, NBA stars Paul Pierce (Boston Celtics), Josh Howard (Dallas Mavericks), Monta Ellis (Golden State Warriors), Shawn Marion (Phoenix Suns) and Randy Foye (Minnesota Timberwolves) will be on hand to have their go-to moves authentically represented in NBA LIVE through motion capture.

NBA LIVE Summer Camp, open to the media but not to the general public, will provide the NBA players the opportunity to get their first look at NBA LIVE 08, give feedback to the development team, and get them on the court for a little friendly competition. As an added bonus, Arenas will pull out the hibachi and grill lunch for his guests.

“One of our biggest goals has always been to develop the most authentic sports games on the market,” said Jordan Edelstein, Director of Marketing, EA SPORTS™. “Bringing in some of the NBA’s best athletes to EA for motion capture gives us the means to create a basketball experience as realistic in the videogame as you see it on the court.”

During the motion capture session, the NBA players will be dressed in a custom fit suit with reflective markers. Cameras – each with their own light source – surround the floor and record the point of light reflecting off the markers as a dot on the screen. The “bones” of the game character are pulled around by the dots in the same manner a string would pull a marionette’s body around. This data is transferred into the game and enables the development team to realistically represent that player’s movement as a videogame character. EA Canada is home to the largest motion capture studio in the world pumping out more than a half-million seconds of animation delivered each year with 200+ shoot days.

All six players attending NBA LIVE Summer Camp will be paired with kids attending the event from Burnaby KidSport during their friendly shoot-around in the gym. This locally-based not-for-profit organization raises and distributes money for kids in Burnaby, B.C., aged 5 to 17 who would not otherwise be able to participate in organized sports due to financial barriers. This will be led by EA Canada’s Community Relations program, EA™ Cares, which has a strong tradition of supporting the community.

NBA LIVE 08 will be available in early October for the PLAYSTATION®3 and PlayStation®2 computer entertainment systems, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable), Xbox 360™ video game system from Microsoft and the Wii™. NBA LIVE 08 will ship to retailers on PC in late October. NBA LIVE 08 has been rated 3+ by PEGI and “E” (Everyone) by the ESRB.

Call of Duty 4 - Hands On Impressions

With Infinity Ward and Activision making a drastic change to the incredibly popular World War II shooter this year, they're also offering gamers the chance to participate in an online Beta to get a sneak peak at the game's online play before release. Activision gave AceGamez the chance to get an early look at the title before the Beta officially launches, and we came away with some surprising results.

Perhaps the most exciting thing we can tell you is that the game still feels decisively like Call of Duty; in fact, it retains a feel very much like Call of Duty 2 (Infinity Ward's last COD game), and even brings back some features removed from COD2 for the last title, COD3, such as the Killcam that shows you the perspective of the enemy moments before your death. The gameplay itself is very smooth, running at a high frame rate, while featuring the fast-paced style the online aspect of COD has become associated with.

While we couldn't try out a lot of levels, fans should take note that the ones we did get to play were quite varied, spread out over Europe and various Middle-Eastern countries. Those afraid of nothing but Middle-Eastern desert settings need not worry, as one of the best maps in the Beta is a verdant villiage featuring an empty creek bed, several abandoned buildings, and trees covered in thick layers of moss. The battles all feature real-time player activated events as well, such as an airstrike attack that sees jets will fly overhead quickly, or a helicopter that will hover over the battlefield and lay down fire on the enemy team before being destroyed in spectacular fashion. However, some fans of a game like Battlefield 2 will not likely be pulled away considering these events cannot be controlled by the player as with those games.

With that said, COD4 doesn't look to be pushing the actual gameplay aspects of the genre too much further, but it has made an incredible effort to make the overall experience for the gameplay it does offer a very good one. A number of new, and unique, features have been added for the updated setting: for starters, if a player gets a three kill streak without dying they'll have the opportunity to activate the radar and locate enemies for a brief amount of time. Each class also comes not only with specific weapons, but what are called perks, and after reaching a certain rank players will be able to actually create their own class by combining a primary weapon, side arm, grenade type and a set of three perks. Though there are plenty we didn't get to play with, some perks offered include increased bullet damage, increased health, bigger explosion damage, longer sprinting, increased hip-fire accuracy, and deeper bullet penetration. These perks offer each player a unique edge over another but don't throw the balance enough to make it seem unfair to have one set of perks; there doesn't seem to be a be-all, end-all set of skills... yet.

There's plenty to do online when not in a game, too. Aside from managing your classes or setting up a party (yes, the game does include parties like every online game should!), you can enter what's called the Barracks where you can look at your progression. Your rank, experience points (XP), points to next level, and overall statistics such as kill counts and play time are managed here. Clan tags can be added, leaderboards browsed, and you can even look at a set of challenges for each weapon. These challenges not only gain XP, but special add ons such as laser sight or new gun camouflage. Much like Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, specifically the installment for the original Xbox, the challanges are not played seperately from the online game but must be done during one - for instance, obtaining 25 head shots with any gun will complete a specific challenge for that weapon. We're hoping other challenges outside of kill counts or headshots will be featured, as there are numerous classified goals that are unavailable in this build.

One very impressive aspect of COD4 so far is the graphics. Not only does it run very smooth, but the graphics are suprisingly polished. The amount of detail in everything is rather stunning, and on first view you won't be able to pinpoint exactly what makes the game look so good; you can just tell. The grass, broken fences, destroyed debris, thin layers of smoke coming from a helicopter on fire, and superb real time lighting effects all stand out, and considering this is only a Beta Build, to say we're excited about the graphical potential of this game is an understatement! Not only do the level designs look great, but they offer a good amount of freedom of choice; there are balconies you can climb up on, or ledges you'll be able to shimmy yourself onto if you get creative. Plenty of windows will need to be scoured when running down a street, and there are back allies everywhere. Online shooters should never be linear, and it looks like COD4 will do a great job at keeping players on their toes both when looking out for enemies and looking for new locations to attack from.

Fans of Rainbow Six: Vegas will be very happy with the rank system implemented in COD4, and the rewards it offers. Gamers will be encouraged to continually play and unlock new tools - what kind of tools remains to be seen. Overall COD4 is shaping up very nicely, managing to retain the familiar online gameplay it's known for whilst making a drastic change in location and equipment without altering the core experience too much at all. We're excited to see what other new features COD4 will bring to the online table; at the moment it has a surprisingly good grasp on what any good shooter should have these days.

WIDELOAD GAMES, INC. BRINGS STYLE AND

ORIGINAL GAMEPLAY TO SHORTER GAMES

CHICAGO, IL (August 14, 2007) - Wideload Games, Inc. (www.wideload.com), today officially announced its new Shorts division, which is focused on developing smaller, entertaining, game experiences for multiple platforms. Wideload is applying its trademark humor and core development team model, which proved successful with Stubbs the Zombie, to a new line of innovative games that will appeal to players who desire easy-to-play games that can be played on the go or in smaller time increments. Like its retail console games, Wideload’s Shorts Division will always create original games featuring Wideload’s unique sensibility.

Video game industry veteran Scott Corley was recruited to lead the Wideload Shorts division. Corley was formerly the president of Red Mercury, a successful game developer for handheld platforms and PCs. “Wideload’s unique, independent, creatively focused culture continues to spawn a slew of great game ideas, some of which are ideal for a smaller entertainment experience,” says Corley. “Wideload Shorts is here to make games for everyone out there who used to play games, who still want to play games, but can no longer invest forty hours a week playing games. We’re making little packets of densely-packed fun for you to enjoy. And we’re having a blast doing it.”

Tom Kang, President of Wideload, explains the broader strategy. “Wideload Shorts employs the same philosophy and business model we pioneered for large retail console releases and there are significant synergies that arise from developing for both markets,” says Kang. “Shorts’ games are created by a small core team, but will have creative and technical input from all areas of Wideload. Further, Wideload Shorts’ and Wideload’s larger development teams will work together to leverage their creative assets. For example, a Wideload retail game may include an asset that would be great to spin off into a Shorts game, and vice versa, a Wideload Shorts game could inspire a Wideload Games retail product.”

Wideload Shorts games will target handheld, console and PC platforms, and will be distributed via established and emerging download channels. Wideload Shorts will release its first game in late 2007, with additional games scheduled for release in 2008. Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 users should also keep a look out for Wideload’s other 2008 game, Hail to the Chimp, which is being published by GameCock.

DAN CARSON JOINS THE U.S. RESISTANCE IN
CODEMASTERS' TURNING POINT: FALL OF LIBERTY

Codemasters Releases First Video Footage of Dan Carson
Caught in the Middle of the German Invasion of New York City

Burbank, CA - Thursday, August 16, 2007 - Codemasters today revealed Dan Carson as the main character that will join the U.S. resistance against the invading Nazis in the forthcoming, alternate-reality World War II FPS Turning Point™: Fall of Liberty. Set to make this new take on WWII a very personal experience, gamers can get their first glimpse of Dan Carson in action in the first Turning Point: Fall of Liberty gameplay video, released today and available online at www.turningpointgame.com.

Dealing with a turning point in time, one that begins with Churchill being killed in a car accident that ultimately leads to the Axis invasion of the U.S, Turning Point: Fall of Liberty's story also deals with the 'turning point' for the game's central character, Dan Carson. The game opens with Carson, a New York City construction worker, high up on the girders of a partially built skyscraper in downtown Manhattan as he bares witness to the initial invasion; battleships breaching New York harbor, and the skies filled with Zeppelins, assault blimps, jet aircraft and German paratroopers.

Turning Point: Fall of Liberty gives players a unique sense of empowerment as they take the role of Carson, a civilian caught in the middle of this new battleground. As a man on his own, with no immediate plan for escape and no weapons other than those that can be scavenged, Carson runs for his life, trapped in New York City under a devastating attack from advanced Nazi military technology and firepower.

Climbing and leaping from level to level, Carson attempts to escape the building and make his way down to the ground before it's too late. As German paratroopers descend onto the structure, Carson must deal with them as best he can in hand-to-hand combat. During these sequences, Turning Point: Fall of Liberty's unique grappling system will play out from a third-person viewpoint, showcasing the brutal tactics Carson will have to employ to stay alive - some of them taking advantage of the surrounding environment.

As Turning Point: Fall of Liberty's opening sequence unfolds, Carson eventually reaches the relative cover of street level and reluctantly joins forces with the U.S. resistance - Carson's own 'turning point' as he becomes part of the underground defense initiative. From here, in this dramatically changed WWII experience, players will fight on the other side of war - one where they're not part of the invading superpower's army, but instead as a resisting force on their home turf and reliant on wit and guerrilla tactics to survive.

Turning Point: Fall of Liberty is coming in early 2008 for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system from SCEA, Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®, and Games for Windows® and is currently rated "RP" (Rating Pending) by the ESRB. For the latest game briefings, and to see Dan Carson in action be sure to check out the official game website at www.turningpointgame.com.
